Background

Susie Bloodworth-Race has an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath, followed up with an MSc in Explosive Ordnance Engineering (EOE) from 成人直播 Defence and Security.

Susie is researching her PhD with the CBRN and Survivability Group, looking into possibilities for reducing blast induced mild traumatic brain injuries by incorporating a further energy absorption layer into helmet design. This also encompasses the myriad of complex factors that influence the behaviour of a helmet when exposed to live explosive blast.

Research opportunities

3D printed structures, materials science, experimental mechanics, and shock physics.

Current activities
