Background

Deborah's work focuses on sustainability-oriented water management and governance frameworks. She adopts an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspective, particularly at the boundary between social science and engineering. Her approach to problem-solving is informed by my interdisciplinary academic background that spans water resources management and environmental engineering. She holds a BSc (Honours) degree in Water Resources Management. After completing her degree, she went on to pursue a joint master鈥檚 degree in Water Science and Engineering from Unesco-IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, The Netherlands, Instituto Superior Tecnico Lisbon, Portugal, and Technische Universitat Dresden, Germany.

Deborah has worked on water governance, integrated water resources management, and water, sanitation and hygiene projects in the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and other countries, with a focus on knowledge sharing and evidence-based policy and practice.

She is currently building on her initial exploration of institutional aspects, stakeholder management, and nature-based solutions through her PhD on "Community-based Co-design of Small-scale Wastewater Systems".
